Overview:

As an HVAC Controls Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, implementation, and optimization of HVAC control systems. You will collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and vendors to ensure our systems meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and energy efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in controls engineering while contributing to impactful projects that shape the future of climate control solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Implementation:

    • Design and engineer HVAC control systems tailored to client specifications and project requirements.
    • Develop detailed control strategies and sequences of operations for HVAC equipment.
    • Program and configure Building Automation Systems (BAS), including controllers, sensors, actuators, and networking components.
  • Testing and Commissioning:

    • Conduct comprehensive testing and debugging of control systems to ensure functionality and performance.
    • Collaborate with installation teams to oversee system integration and commissioning phases.
    • Verify system performance through functional testing and calibration to meet design intent and client expectations.
  • Documentation and Support:

    • Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, wiring diagrams, and operation manuals.
    • Provide technical support to project teams, clients, and service technicians during installation, startup, and post-installation phases.
    • Conduct training sessions for clients and end-users on system operation and maintenance best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in HVAC controls engineering.
    • Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in HVAC controls engineering, including design, programming, and commissioning of BAS.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and software platforms relevant to HVAC controls (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, Niagara Framework).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and VAV systems.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and project teams.
