Are you ready to take on a leadership role that shapes the future of higher education design and strategy? We are seeking a Principal, Higher Education Sector Leader to join our clients team in Florida and advance the mission, goals, and core values of their innovative firm.
Key Responsibilities: As the Principal, Higher Education Sector Leader, you will:
- Collaborate Across Offices: Work with sector leaders to build a market niche in Higher Education Academic Science and Academic Health Science projects, driving marketing efforts to win commissions.
- Lead Strategically: Establish the firm as a Global Resource and Trusted Partner in higher education by leveraging your expertise and enhancing our reputation in the market.
- Deliver Exceptional Design: Partner with leaders and designers to produce environmentally responsible, innovative designs that elevate the firm's design legacy.
- Drive the Holistic Design Process: Lead the Envision, Discover, Iterate, and Act methodology across all phases of project development.
- Engage with Clients: Prepare and present design concepts at various stages, coordinate with consultants, and ensure project documentation and storytelling align with the firm's standards.
- Foster Talent: Mentor architects and designers, nurturing their growth and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Contribute to Strategic Thinking: Participate in firm strategy sessions, retreats, and planning efforts to position the firm for long-term success.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a visionary leader with proven expertise in higher education design, exceptional project management skills, and a passion for mentoring talent and creating sustainable, impactful designs.
- Background in Academic Health Sciences or Academic Science, with a focus on Higher Education design.
- Proven relationships with higher education institutions in Florida with a strong understanding of Florida's higher education landscape.
- Experience with State University System and connections to private institutions within the state are highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to support the growth of Florida-based projects, particularly in collaboration with key team leaders.
- Knowledge of the competitive landscape in Florida, including firms and other Academic Sciences-focused organizations.
- A true practice leader with expertise in Business Development, Project Development, and Practice Leadership-a "Seller-Doer" mindset is essential.
- Ability to contribute to projects in areas such as programming, project management, or technical execution while leading client and market engagement.
- Current, meaningful relationships in the market, with a track record of being a driving force behind key projects and collaborations.
This role requires someone who can seamlessly combine leadership, technical expertise, and business acumen to drive growth and success in the Higher Education sector.
